About

Christ-Centered Education
At Hendersonville Christian Academy a Christ-centered education exists first and foremost because our school is founded on the Word of God. Secondly, our staff strives to model a Christian example while integrating a biblical, Christian worldview into all we do, both in the classroom and outside the classroom. Integration is the blending of biblical principles with traditional subject matter areas. It is the tools with which a biblically based school creates a truly Christian, truly biblical, Christ-centered school.
HCA History
Hendersonville Christian Academy is an important ministry of Bible Baptist Church. The church was founded in 1969 by Pastor Carl Frensley. Our school ministry was begun in 1977. The original school building was erected with gifts from the members of Bible Baptist Church. Since then, a number of additions have been made to our facilities including the gymnasium, cafeteria, and Family Life Center.
In 2015 the church called Dr. Greg Mutsch as its pastor. Under his leadership and vision for growth, the church is working towards building a new campus for the church and its school ministry, HCA. In 25 years, HCA has had three Heads of School, William Slater, John Goodale, and Amber Mungle. All of these individuals had a pivotal role in the building and expanding our our school's foundation. In late 2020, HCA announced the hiring of Trent Thorell as their new Head of School.
